Greek Tomato Database


How to use the database

The database is accessible through a top banner with five fields. The first field is “The project” that gives a detailed information regarding this project and includes five subfields. First “Why a genetic Greek Tomato database” giving the necessity to exist a Greek database for tomatoes, secondly “The choice of SSR to be used”, third “The Nuclear SSR Database”, fourth the “Origin of seeds”, fifth the “Transliteration” and sixth “The authors”.

The second field is the “Methodology”. Including “Plant material”, “DNA extraction”, “Nuclear microsatellite PCR”, “Genetic Analysis and Neighbor‑Joining Tree Construction”, “Population STRUCTURE”, and “Publications”.

The third field is “The Databases”. At this field we can access “The SSR database”, “The Structure Database”, and the “Phenograms”. Here can find all the results of 28 inferred ecotypes of tomato, in total 79 accessions.

The fourth field is the “Digital Bank”. In the “Digital Bank for Genetic Material and Seed Production” we can find five fields the “Transliteration”, the “Greek Names”, the “Origin of the seeds”, “Phenotypic information from MELITAKES and HMU”.

The fifth field is the “Photos”. This database has six fields the “Transliteration”, the “Greek Names”, the “Plant”, “Leaf”, “Fruit”, “Cross section”, and “Terminal”.
